Create Destroy Issue -01
2021
Periodical publication.
Create Destroy (“CD”) Issue -01 serves to function as the prototype for its future magazine issues. The publication presents the audience with image-dense feature articles and interactive page spreads. No topic is off limits to discuss, and the aim of this publication is to take a creative angle with every story. This publication encourages readers to take things apart, rip things out, and add to the pages (i.e. one spread provides origami paper and instructions to create an origami crane, one spread is a coloring book for a pair of Nike shoes). This magazine is catered more towards young adults aged 18-25, and would feature interviews with relevant figures to this age range such as A$AP Rocky. Some spreads in this magazine may even function as supplementary for use with new media—QR code pages would offer seemingly random areas of exploration for readers. A few categories in this particular issue are: environment, lifestyle, fashion, technology, and ‘Create Destroy’.
Diversity and collaboration would be key to consider in moving forward with future issues of CD. While issue -01 did not include braille or accommodations for the blind, color-blind, or other groups in need— future editions would seek to offer a unique experience for those groups of people to enjoy. This magazine would ideally be printed onto recycled paper or a sustainable material such as hemp (paper) to reduce its carbon footprint and raise awareness for environmental issues. CD is for open-minded people and creative individuals, or those with a creative interest.
